Statement On Supreme Court Affirmative Action Decision

We express deep concern and disappointment regarding the latest Supreme Court's decision to overturn affirmative action. This ruling effectively undermines 60 years of progress as affirmative action has played a crucial role in addressing racial and systemic inequalities in higher education. By dismantling such policies, we risk perpetuating existing disparities and hindering progress towards a more equitable and inclusive society. 

Firmly, we stand on our strategic pillars to elevate community voices and build justice and resiliency in Evanston regardless of the Supreme Court’s decision. We will continue to support and create programming that aims to level the playing field and ensure equal access to education and employment for Black and Brown communities. We believe that fostering diversity and embracing affirmative action can contribute to a stronger, more just society- For Now, Forever, and For Everyone.
