in-depth, one-day orientation
Snapshot Evanston is an opportunity to learn more about the Evanston community and its assets and issues. This dynamic day allows participants to meet with local leaders, delve into current issues and tour the entire city. By the end of the day, participants have a better picture of how Evanston works and its strengths and challenges as it moves to the future.
The day begins with a look back at Evanston's history with a bus tour of the city's diverse neighborhoods, highlighting major trends of yesterday and today. In addition, panels of distinguished community leaders share their expertise and knowledge about Evanston. Presenters include city government officials, school district representatives and economic development experts.
"Past Snapshot Evanston participants often leave feeling inspired and committed to making Evanston a better place", said Leadership Evanston Director Jennifer Moran. "Whether you are new to the community or interested in learning more about its history and challenges, Snapshot Evanston is a wonderful orientation to Evanston."
Katie Smith, a 2014 participant and assistant director at Evanston CASE said "Snapshot Evanston was an excellent opportunity to get to know Evanston in a new way. I've lived here for 15 years and still learned so much from this one-day workshop. I highly recommend it to anyone who is new to our community or individuals who are interested in getting more involved in our fantastic community.
