Sol Anderson, ECF President and CEO shares thoughts on the recent shooting here in Evanston.

Statement issued on November 30, 2021

in Sol's words

"I’m sure you’ve read about the violence that took place in Evanston this week. What is it that we need to fix about our world that makes it less likely for young people to be caught in an endless web of violence? It is quite possible that the world has not been kind to them. That they could have suffered from food insecurity, homelessness, lack of health care. How can we make this a world, starting locally here in Evanston, that responds to their needs? How can we wrap them in an endless web of love and care? We are heartbroken that four young people have been injured and one young person passed away on Monday evening. The ECF team sends its deepest condolences to the families and community members impacted by this tragic incident. Let’s work together to make this a community where young people can thrive and stay out of harm’s way."
