ECF ROLLS OUT NEW INITIATIVE: UBUNTU LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE  

EVANSTON, IL, June 14, 2024- The Evanston Community Foundation rolled out its latest initiative, the Ubuntu Leadership Institute, at their annual fundraiser Celebrate Evanston. Building on the foundation’s Signature Leadership Evanston 32 year-long history, ECF has taken on the opportunity to expand leadership development opportunities for local community members.  

“As a Foundation, we spend a great deal of time listening in community and one thing we consistently heard was a call for more leadership development opportunities in Evanston,” said Akilah Wilson, a spokesperson for ECF. “This feedback, coupled with our commitment to empowering leaders, is what ultimately led to the launch of the Ubuntu Leadership Institute.” 

The Evanston Community Foundation will now offer the following leadership programming via the Ubuntu Leadership Institute: 

• Board Leadership Training  
• Leadership Circles 
• Legacy Leaders Network  
• Leadership Evanston  

“Community made this happen,” said Karli Butler, VP of Community Leadership & Investment. “This institute is a culmination of every conversation, suggestion, and frustration shared with the ECF... We did this with you, for you, and because of you.”
