supporting mission related work as fiscal sponsor

When collaborative community efforts come together, sometimes they need a home to combine their efforts under one rubric. Evanston Community Foundation is able to serve as fiscal sponsor to such efforts when they align with our mission and strategic priorities.

Evanston Cradle to Career

The vision of Evanston Cradle to Career of creating a collective impact initiative to ensure the all children in Evanston reach their potential is deeply related to ECF’s stated focus through Communityworks of ensuring that every child is ready for kindergarten and every youth ready for work. Since July 2017, ECF has served as fiscal sponsor for EC2C.

Illinois Early Childhood Fellowship

Since 2006, ECF has invested significant resources in early childhood care and education, supporting a strategic vision of ensuring that young children get the strong foundation in the earliest years they need to thrive as they grow up. So when six foundations participating in the Early Childhood Funders Group developed the Early Childhood Fellowship in 2007 and needed a foundation to serve as fiscal sponsor, it was a good match for ECF. The Fellowship provided intensive learning opportunities for diverse up-and-coming leaders in the field. The six funders were The Boeing Company, Grand Victoria Foundation, Irving Harris Foundation, J.B. & M.K. Pritzker Family Foundation, Joyce Foundation, and McCormick Foundation.

In July 2015, the program transitioned to a permanent new home at the Erikson Institute, as the Barbara Bowman Leadership Fellows Program of the Early Childhood Leadership Academy at Erikson Institute.
