LEADERSHIP EVANSTON

What is Leadership Evanston?

Open to all Evanstonians, Signature Leadership Evanston (LE) is a 10-month cohort learning program that brings together community leaders from a wide range of backgrounds, and experiences, to brainstorm solutions to hyper-local issues, and make the necessary connections to continue their work in Evanston. This is a non-certificate program that runs from September through June. During that time participants:

  • Learn about the history of Evanston to understand how we became the city we are today.
  • Build relationships with each other and other community leaders.
  • Collaborate to problem-solve around our biggest challenges.

This immersive experience aims to equip cohort participants with a deep understanding of Evanston's history, as well as the programs, places, and individuals who possess the potential to lead our community towards its desired future. As part of their engagement, LE participants partake in an independent group project of their choice, and subsequent share out presentation with the community. Previous projects covered a diverse range of topics from affordable housing to organizational cultural competency training.

This unique experience allows participants the space to brainstorm solutions to hyper-local issues, and make the necessary connections to continue their work beyond Leadership Evanston.
