Now is the time to deepen our commitment to making honest change in our community. As Evanston continues to

recover from the depths of Covid19, ECF is laser-focused on addressing the inequities laid bare by the pandemic.

our statement on the murders in Atlanta

March 30, 2021 | ECF Statement

Evanston Community Foundation joins in mourning the lives lost in Atlanta last week, including six women of Asian descent.

We are outraged and heartbroken by these murders and by the rising anti-Asian sentiment in some parts of the country. ECF strongly condemns violence and discrimination against our Asian American friends, neighbors, colleagues, family members, and fellow citizens.

Racism and expressions of hate, bias and discrimination towards any group or individual have no place in our community or in our country.

We will continue to work hard in Evanston to create a place where all are welcome and all will thrive, now and forever.

We send our love and sympathy to the families of the victims and to all those who continue to suffer from hate and violence.
